Flying Time

We took our trellises out of the garden this weekend

it feels like just yesterday we were putting them in the garden.

Our young family has grown so much since last May when we were setting those trellises out.

Baby Oliver is already three months old!

We've added another addition to our homestead. I'm not willing to say we've added them to our family...I'm not sure how permanent of an addition these birds are.

In addition to time flying, I've found these birds can also fly a bit if you leave their door open...and then you have to catch them...no fun.

Can you believe it's almost November? I can't. I love October, with the exception of the very last day of this crisp month of apples and acorns.

Halloween, I'm in denial of it's existence, and yet every year, there it is. Even with our oldest at an age where Halloween is fun for him, I'm still just not into it at all. Oh, well.

Bayliss's fourth birthday is coming up this week and I am very very excited about that!

WOW! Time sure does fly. Oliver looks so big already.

And, what's going on w/your chickens? Are you not into them or are you saying they may fly away on their own? They look full-grown already. Are they laying already? How many did you get?

Yes, I try to get excited. Cami squealing through the house today. "Its Halloween Noah, that means lots of treats!" Its fun to see them all dressed up and excited, but our house was a lonely two jack-o-lanterns next to two very spooky looking houses tonight. Oh well, the kids had a lot of fun! I can't believe Oliver is already three months, you're right, time does fly. He's so adorable!

oliver is getting so big! time sure is flying. are you storing your trellises inside for the winter?

i am ambivalent about halloween too. there is only just so much enthusiasm that i can muster up for costumes. part of this is probably because my daughter's birthday is just a few days after halloween, so i am usually busy with birthday crafting. i have noticed though that my friends who are most enthusiastic about halloween are the ones who are the least creative the other 364 days of the year, so i wonder if there is such a thing as creative burnout at halloween for otherwise creative individuals?

Hey Mandy -- You are not alone, I can't stand Halloween, but October is a wonderful month. Love it. Your little Oliver is getting big.

Kim, I should have given more info about the hens. they are two years old. there are three of them. i feel like i may start liking them if/when they start making more eggs. i didn't attach the door very well one day and one got out which resulted in my chasing the freaking chicken around the yard for a really long time.

you can see how much the boys grew since the spring picture! And then there's oliver, of course.
And the chickens, yeah...we've gone on a few chicken chases around the 'hood, too. The girls thinks it's hysterical. I think it's a huge hassle finding them, capturing them, and then the apologies to neighbors that comes next...sigh.
